Synopsis:

Bhuban Chowdhurys elder son Bani is an advocate and younger son Debu is a college student. His son-in-law Fatik and his daughter stay in his house. When Bhuban Chowdhury decides to marry Bani, Fatik comes up with a match that he says will be good. Everybody goes to meet Natabars sister Dipali. She is a college student. But at the time of the marriage everybody finds that another girl is the bride. The name of this girl is Kalyani Dutta and she is not very good looking. Fatik had suggested this trick to Natabar. After a long chaos, Kalyani and Bani get married. Initially Bhuban Chowhury does not show any fondness towards Kalyani, but later he feels affectionately for her. One day Bani comes to know that Kalyani is illiterate. Bani feels irritated and he moves out of the house. Kalyani starts taking lessons from her brother-in-law Debu. But Fatik spreads rumours that Kalyani is having an illicit affair with Debu. Bhuban gets angry and drives away Kalyani from his house. On the other hand, Fatik wants to confiscate Bhubans property illigally. In the mean time Kalyani comes back and makes Bhuban understand the truth. As Kalyani reads the deed, Bani comes back home and the two get close again. Meanwhile Debu and Dipali get married to each other
